Television has had its share of crap, but lately has really stepped up its game. Black Mirror, a British series of fantastical stand-alone tales, doesn’t score every time, but its ideas and concepts alone are magnificent.
Creator Charlie Brooker mixes technology with satire to create often-frightening glimpses of our near future. Of the existing episodes, in particular you’ll shiver at The Entire History of You, a startling look at saving - and sharing - your memories.
It’s not for everyone - perhaps best to wait for grandma to go to bed - but this is television that makes you think twice.
