2015 Mercedes GLA250 4Matic

Listen, it’s a compact crossover, not a hatchback. (Mercedes insists.)

This smaller sib of the GLK, the GLA fits better into garages and small parking spaces. The interior is obviously upscale and comfy, although some of the tech stuff (mouse, pop-up screen, gear selector) takes some adjustment.

The handling is good, the ride is pretty good - perhaps a tad noisy. The anti-idle reacts a bit slow on the restart. Storage space is on the low end.

27 mpg average, and an MSRP of $33k.

Compared to Infiniti, Audi, or BMW the GLA has some work to do.
